QM-FN-SO3 is small-molecule fluorescent probe designed for directly mapping of amyloid-β (Aβ) plaques in vivo. It exhibited extraordinary features of ultra-high S/N ratio, remarkable binding affinity with BBB penetrability, and high-performance near-infrared emission. The detection characteristics of QM-FN-SO3 greatly streamline and improve the protocols for Aβ analysis in living animals. QM-FN-SO3 serves as a promising alternative to commercial probes such as Thioflavin derivatives (ThT or ThS) for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) research.
