SiR (silicon-rhodamine) dyes are a family of far-red fluorescent probes derived from a modified rhodamine structure in which oxygen is replaced with silicon. They are bright, photostable, and cell-permeable, making them highly suited for live-cell imaging and super-resolution microscopy. SiR-6-COOH (652Ex/674Em) is a single-isomer carboxylic acid derivative that can be conjugated to amine-containing molecules, and is compatible with standard Cy5 filter sets.
