HaloTag is a self-labeling protein derived from the haloalkane dehalogenase DhaA from Rhodococcus rhodochrous. Its active site reacts with chloroalkane substrates to form an irreversible bond. The covalent linkage between the HaloTag ligand and HaloTag protein enables rapid isolation and purification. HaloTag TMR Ligand (555Ex/585Em) can be used for protein fluorescent labeling. It is an equivalent of Promega product G8251 and G8252.
