HaloTag is a self-labeling protein derived from the haloalkane dehalogenase DhaA from Rhodococcus rhodochrous. Its active site reacts with chloroalkane substrates to form an irreversible bond. The covalent linkage between the HaloTag ligand and HaloTag protein enables rapid isolation and purification. HaloTag DBCO Ligand can be used to attach DBCO moiety to protein. DBCO has been extensively used in copper-free click chemistry.
