SiR (silicon-rhodamine) dyes are a family of far-red fluorescent probes derived from a modified rhodamine structure in which oxygen is replaced with silicon. They are bright, photostable, and cell-permeable, making them highly suited for live-cell imaging and super-resolution microscopy. SiR-NHS is the NHS ester of SiR-6-COOH (652Ex/674Em) and can be conjugated to amine-containing molecules easily. It is compatible with standard Cy5 filter sets.
